Bukit Ketumbar, Cheras

Hello people!
Today, we are bringing you to a community hill which is near to most people.
Also, it is a place where you can have interactions with animal which hikers are trying to avoid at most trails - the wild boars!

Located at Cheras, Bukit Ketumbar has become a famous hiking place for the Cheras community, as well as those from neighboring areas.

It is easy to get to this trail. Just Google Map or Waze 'Ketumbar Hill' and it will lead you directly to the trail head.

However, do mind that the parking space is VERY VERY limited.
It is a good idea to carpool, and smaller car is recommended as the road is quite narrow there.
The road leads to one dead end, and if space is not permitted, you will have to reverse your car all the way out to a bigger space to make a three-point turn.
So, it's better to get there with a smaller car.

Also, there is an open car park where the watchman will collect a fee from you. Not too sure on the fee payable but it should be around RM2 - RM5 per entry.
It is more spacious here hence you need not to worry about getting in and out from the parking space.

The trail head is located at the end of the road (the free parking space).
It is very noticeable and the path is clear.

*a warning board was put up to warn people not to catch the wild boars*

Although this is a community trail, getting to the peak is definitely not easy.
The trail is all the way up with steep slopes. Serves very well as a training group I think.

After around an hour or so, we've finally reached the peak!

Apparently someone has started up a business here to sell food and beverages.
It is not opened on the day we went hence we did not get to try and see what this stall serves.

The peak is very spacious and there are some recreational sports equipment there for hikers who want to do some workout other than hiking.

Last but not least, the main attraction of Bukit Ketumbar, the friendly wild boars!!
These wild boars are not fierce or anything. Probably they are used to people as they are visited by hikers almost everyday.
You may feed these wild boars too!
However, do not do anything that will piss them off. At the end of the day, they are still wild boars. They might hurt you if they feel threatened.

Summary of the hike:-
1. Short and moderate hike. Beware that the trail is all the way up with steep slopes
2. Need sufficient water to keep you hydrated as it gets quite hot during mid day
3. Limited parking space and narrow road. Small cars and car pool are recommended
4. DO NOT piss off the wild boars and DO NOT catch them!!

Till the next hike, ciaoz!!!
